ROUTE 602 RE-OPENS IN KING GEORGE
Secondary road was closed for repair in early December following damage from heavy rain

FREDERICKSBURG — Route 602 (Chapel Green Road) in King George County is now open to through vehicle traffic.

A portion of Route 602 was closed for repair on Dec. 8 after flooding washed away a section of the roadway during heavy rain. Route 602 was closed between Route 603 (Fletchers Chapel Road) and Bully Hill Drive.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) employees repaired the portion of damaged roadway. Repairs were completed on Dec. 22, and Route 602 was re-opened to through traffic that day.

Motorists can find real-time information about road closures, road conditions and traffic incidents on VDOT’s 24-hour travel information website, www.511Virginia.org. 511Virginia is also available by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
