SIX-YEAR IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM MEETING TO BE HELD
Public is invited to review, comment on multimodal transportation projects for 14-county Fredericksburg District
FREDERICKSBURG— Secretary of Transportation Sean T. Connaughton and Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) Member Cord Sterling will hold a public meeting in the 14-county Fredericksburg District at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20 so the public may discuss projects and programs in the CTB’s current Six-Year Improvement Program (SYIP).
The public can also provide comments for the development of the Fiscal Years 2013-2018 SYIP, including multimodal initiatives for highways, rail and transit.
The meeting will be held in the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Fredericksburg District Auditorium at 86 Deacon Road, Fredericksburg,VA 22405.
The meeting will include an open house from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Representatives from various state transportation agencies, Metropolitan Planning Organizations and Planning District Commissions will be available during each open house session to provide information and highlight their transportation programs.
Displays and handouts will be available.
Following the open house session, individuals can provide oral or written comments at the meeting. After the meeting, comments can be submitted through email or regular mail.
A draft of the new SYIP will be available next spring, and public hearings will be held before the program is finalized in June 2012.
