ALL LANES OF I-95 SOUTHBOUND ARE NOW OPEN
All lanes of I-95 are open to traffic again in Caroline County

FREDERICKSBURG—All lanes of southbound Interstate 95 have opened to traffic again near Exit 104 (Carmel Church) in Caroline County.

All lanes of the interstate had been closed earlier this morning due to a work zone incident.

Several miles of congestion precedes the incident scene on southbound I-95, and motorists may encounter minor delays as vehicles clear the scene.

At approximately 2:15 a.m. this morning, a contractor vehicle in a paving work zone on southbound I-95 struck power lines near mile marker 104. All travel lanes of northbound and southbound I-95 were closed, and traffic was detoured to Route 1.

All northbound lanes and the right lane of southbound I-95 re-opened at approximately 6 a.m.

Motorists can find real-time information about traffic incidents and congestion on VDOT’s 24-hour travel information website, www.511Virginia.org. 511Virginia is also available by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
