FREDERICKSBURG – The Merry Point Ferry service in Lancaster County was restored to operation at 1 p.m. today following a temporary closure for repairs.

Ferry service was suspended on Thursday, Feb. 16 so mechanical repairs could be made to the vessel’s pulley system.

The Merry Point Ferry service is located on Route 604 in Lancaster. It crosses the western end of the Corrotoman River. It is operated by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
