NEW ROUTE 208 BRIDGE OVER THE TA RIVER BRIDGE SET TO OPEN TODAY
Traffic will be shifted to the new structure shortly after noon

FREDERICKSBURG – Shortly after noon today (Wednesday, Nov. 7), the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will open the new Route 208 bridge over the Ta River to traffic.

The new structure was built in connection with phase II of the Route 208 (Courthouse Road) Bypass Project in Spotsylvania County.

After traffic has been shifted to the new bridge, construction work will continue on the remainder of the project which extends to just west of the Ta River.

The project is expected to complete in 2013.

Motorists are encouraged to be alert to the new traffic pattern and to use caution when traveling through the work zone.
