RIGHT LANE OF I-95 SOUTHBOUND IS OPEN
Two southbound lanes remain closed for paving

FREDERICKSBURG—The right lane of southbound I-95 has re-opened near Exit 104 (Carmel Church). The left and center lanes remain closed.

All lanes of northbound Interstate 95 have also re-opened near Exit 104. All lanes of the interstate had been closed earlier this morning due to a work zone incident.

Southbound traffic continues to have the option of detouring off I-95 to Route 1 at Exit 110 (Ladysmith), and re-entering the interstate at Exit 98 (Doswell).

Message boards have been activated along the I-95 corridor to alert motorists to the closure, the detour route, and potential delays.

Earlier this morning, a contractor vehicle in a paving work zone on southbound I-95 struck the power lines at mile marker 104.

All power lines have been cleared from the interstate. Currently, asphalt is being placed into the left and center lanes that were milled overnight, restoring the travel surface.

Motorists can find real-time information about traffic incidents and congestion on VDOT’s 24-hour travel information website, www.511Virginia.org. 511Virginia is also available by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
