DAYTIME LANE CLOSURE ON I-95 SOUTHBOUND NEXT WEEK
Right lane of I-95 southbound will close Monday in Stafford County, near Exit 148

FREDERICKSBURG – The right lane of Interstate 95 southbound will close next week during daytime hours near mile marker 147, just south of Exit 148 at Quantico Marine Corps Base.

On Monday, April 1, the right lane will be closed from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. for removal of a work zone barrier.

The barrier was installed to protect crews while work was underway to stabilize an embankment and halt erosion near the travel lanes.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and its contractors replaced unsuitable soil in the area with stone, and built a 24-foot retaining wall to stabilize the area.

Real-time listings of work zones and road conditions in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour traffic information website, www.511Virginia.org. Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
