FREDERICKSBURG DISTRICT ROADS ARE CLEAR; MOTORISTS URGED TO BE ALERT FOR REFREEZING TONIGHT
VDOT crews turn focus to pothole repair
FREDERICKSBURG – VDOT crews have spent the day clearing subdivision streets and rural routes of snow and ice. All roads in the district including Interstate 95 are clear, with a few icy spots on subdivision streets and rural routes. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling during the overnight and early morning hours due to refreezing.
VDOT crews have turned their attention to repairing potholes. Milder daytime temperatures and refreezing at night are ideal conditions for potholes to form. Crews throughout the district will patrol area roads for potholes and make repairs as needed. Motorists should be alert to a mobile work zone when repair work is underway.
If you see a pothole in need of repair, call VDOT’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623) to report the location. Customer Service agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to take your call.
VDOT’s 14-county Fredericksburg District includes the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford in the Fredericksburg area; Northumberland, Richmond, Lancaster and Westmoreland counties in the Northern Neck; Essex, Gloucester, King & Queen, King William, Mathews and Middlesex counties in the Middle Peninsula.
