SATURDAY LINE PAINTING OPERATION WILL SLOW TRAFFIC ON SECONDARY ROUTES IN STAFFORD AND SPOTSYLVANIA
Motorists should be alert to slow moving vehicles and wet paint on the pavement

FREDERICKSBURG – On Saturday, May 11, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will be repainting the pavement lines on several secondary routes in Stafford and Spotsylvania County.

VDOT encourages motorists to avoid passing in the mobile work zone.  A slow moving vehicle will be applying wet paint to the pavement; passing in the work zone will cause wet paint to adhere to vehicles and comprise the quality of the pavement marking.  The paint will dry shortly after it is applied to the pavement; restoring a safe passing environment.

Crews will be working on the following routes between 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Stafford County

• Route 612 (Hartwood Rd.) – from Route 17 to the Fauquier County line.
• Route 614 (Spotted Tavern Rd.) – from Route 612 to the Fauquier County line.
• Route 616 (Poplar Rd.) – from Route 612 to Route 17.

Spotsylvania County

• Route 621 (Orange Plank Road) – from Route 3 to the Orange County line.
• Route 612 (Catharpin Road) – from the Orange County line to Route 610.

Real time listings of work zones, delays and road conditions in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour traffic and travel information website www.511virginia.org.  Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
