VDOT, GLOUCESTER COUNTY TO PRESENT ROUTE 17 BUSINESS CORRIDOR TRANSPORTATION STUDY FINDINGS
Citizen Information Meeting to be held on Monday, March 18

FREDERICKSBURG — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Gloucester County will hold a Citizen Information Meeting on Monday, March 18 to present the findings of the Route 17 Business Corridor Transportation Study and the recommendations to address congestion and safety along the Route 17 Business Corridor in Gloucester County based on the findings.

The meeting will be held at the Colonial Courthouse Building located at 6504 Main Street in Gloucester.  The open house style meeting will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. with a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m.

Representatives from VDOT and HNTB Consultants will be available to answer questions about the study findings and recommendations.  

The study area included a 2.5 mile section of Route 17 Business from Route 17 Bypass South to Route 17 Bypass North in the Gloucester Courthouse area.  The following intersections were also included in the analysis:

• John Clayton/Main Street
• Main Street/Edgehill and Grace Hill Shopping Center – all access points
• Main Street/Route 17 (north and south intersections)
• Main Street and Roaring Springs Road
• Belroi Road and Main Street
• Main Street and Ware House Landing Road
• TC Walker Road
• Key driveways in the study area
