AREA ROADS CLOSED DUE TO FLOODING, SOME POSTED FOR HIGH WATER
Motorists are urged to slow down and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions
FREDERICKSBURG (11 a.m.) – Several roads in the Fredericksburg District are closed due to flooding or have been posted for high water including a portion of Route 1 north in Spotsylvania and Caroline County.
Below is a partial list of roads that are currently closed due to flooding or posted for high water. For the latest complete list of road conditions visit www.511Virginia.org or call 511.
Route 1 north – between Larkin Road and Stonebridge Court – high water
Route 669 (French Acors Road) - Closed
Harrell Road – Closed
River Road – Closed
Route 657 – near Route 658 Jericho Rd and Route 1 – Closed
Route 603 - from Route 639 (Ladysmith Rd) to Goose Hill Road – Closed
Route 639 – from Bride Wood Subdvd. to Lake Land’Or Subdvd. – High water
Route 601 - from Route 658 to Route 1 – High water
Route 604 – near Route 1 – High water
Route 1 – just south Route 632- High water
Route 622 – between Route 1 and Ladysmith Village – High water
VDOT crews are monitoring areas that are prone to flooding and installing high water signs where appropriate.
Motorists are urged to travel with caution and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
VDOT’s 14-county Fredericksburg District includes the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford in the Fredericksburg area; Northumberland, Richmond, Lancaster and Westmoreland counties in the Northern Neck; Essex, Gloucester, King & Queen, King William, Mathews and Middlesex counties in the Middle Peninsula.
