DETOUR ON LANSDOWNE ROAD AUG. 5-8
Road will be closed to traffic between Chapman Drive and Teton Drive in Spotsylvania County

FREDERICKSBURG – Route 638 (Lansdowne Road) in Spotsylvania County will be closed to traffic between Chapman Drive and Teton Drive from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5 through Friday, August 8.

 

Motorists are encouraged to use the posted detour route on Route 2, Benchmark Road, and Mine Road. The road will re-open to traffic each afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

 

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will be replacing wire baskets filled with stone that line the drainage ditches on both sides of Lansdowne Road between Chapman Drive and Teton Drive. The baskets were installed in 2011 to support the road’s slope, prevent erosion, and improve roadway drainage.
