NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN ON ROUTE 3 WEST
Lanes have been re-striped between Gordon Road and Harrison Road

FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has painted new lane markings on Route 3 westbound in Spotsylvania County between Gordon Road and Harrison Road to improve safety and reduce merging.

Under the new traffic pattern, westbound motorists in the left lane of Route 3 will no longer have to move over one travel lane if they wish to continue traveling west after Gordon Road.

Motorists wishing to turn left onto Harrison Road from westbound Route 3 must shift into a left turn lane. Two left turn lanes from Route 3 westbound to Harrison Road remain in the new pattern.

Real-time listings of travel times, work zones, and traffic incidents in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour traffic information website, www.511Virginia.org.

Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia, or downloading VDOT’s 511Virginia free mobile app.
