ROUTE 625 (PASSING ROAD) BRIDGE NOW OPEN
VDOT completed repairs and lifted weight posting on bridge at Caroline, King and Queen county line

FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has re-opened a bridge on Route 625 (Passing Road) at the Caroline and King and Queen county line, and the bridge’s 3-ton weight limit has been lifted.

VDOT state forces installed new steel beams and timber deck materials on the bridge, and added a new railing.

Before the project, the bridge over Byrd’s Mill Pond was structurally deficient, and had a weight posting of 3 tons.

An average of 48 vehicles a day cross the bridge, which was built in 1958.

Real-time listings of travel times, work zones, and traffic incidents in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour traffic information website, www.511Virginia.org. Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
