UPDATE: ROUTE 206 DETOUR IN KING GEORGE POSTPONED UNTIL MAY 9
Work delayed by several days of heavy rain

FREDERICKSBURG –   Several days of heavy rain has delayed the planned detour on Route 206 in King George County until Friday, May 9 and again on Friday, May 16.

The new scheduled for the closure of Route 206 from just east of the intersection of Route 218 (Windsor Drive) and Route 624 (Owens Drive), near the Beechwood Office Center are as follows:

• Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 9 through 5 a.m. on Monday, May 12
• Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 16 through 5 a.m. on Monday, May 19

Route 218 (Windsor Drive) and Route 301 (James Madison Parkway) will remain the designated detour route.  Signs will guide motorists through the detour.

During the closure crews will be installing a 54-inch drainage pipe underneath Route 206.
This is work is in connection with the Route 206 Turn Lane Project. The project is expected to be completed by December 5, 2014.
