CSX rail crossing repair in Spotsylvania extended through 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29

FREDERICKSBURG – Mine Road in Spotsylvania County will remain closed to traffic at the rail crossing near Benchmark Road until 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29.


Additional time was required to allow the road surface to set. Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews will re-open the road at 8 a.m. tomorrow.


CSX closed the rail crossing on Friday, Aug. 21 for repairs.  


Detour signs are posted along the route to guide motorists. To reach their destination, motorists should use Route 638 (Lansdowne Road), Route 2/Route 17 Business (Tidewater Trail) and Route 608 (Benchmark Road).
