Emergency bridge deck repair will be underway near Exit 133/Route 17, and bridge demolition continues near Exit 130/Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG – Motorists traveling on Interstate 95 southbound in the Fredericksburg area will encounter a single-lane closure in two separate work zones on Thursday evening.

Route 17 Overpass, Stafford

An emergency bridge deck repair will close one lane of I-95 southbound near Exit 133/Route 17 in Stafford County from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. overnight on Thursday, March 24.

Crews are repairing multiple potholes on the Route 17 overpass bridge deck. This work continues an emergency repair that began last week.

Additionally, one lane of Route 17 eastbound will be closed underneath the overpass from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. overnight Thursday.

Fall Hill Avenue Bridge Demolition, Fredericksburg

One lane of I-95 southbound will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. overnight Thursday at mile marker 131 at the Fall Hill Avenue overpass. The work zone is located just before Exit 130/Route 3 in Fredericksburg.

Bridge demolition will be underway to remove the closed overpass.
