NEW TURN LANE OPENS ON ROUTE 1 SOUTHBOUND AT ROUTE 610 (GARRISONVILLE ROAD) IN STAFFORD
Project added second right turn lane from Route 1 southbound to Garrisonville Road westbound to ease evening peak travel delays
FREDERICKSBURG – A second right turn lane opened this morning on Route 1 southbound in Stafford County at the intersection with Route 610 (Garrisonville Road).
This $800,000 project added a second right turn lane to reduce driver delays on Route 1 southbound approaching Garrisonville Road during the afternoon peak travel period.
This project was locally administered by Stafford County. The intersection of Route 1 and Garrisonville Road was identified as the highest volume intersection in Stafford County in September 2014.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) replaced traffic signal equipment at the intersection to match the new traffic pattern.
