EXPECT OVERNIGHT I-95 SOUTHBOUND DELAYS AT ROUTE 17 IN STAFFORD COUNTY
Bridge deck repairs will be underway with lane closures set for Monday, Feb. 13 ˗˗ Wednesday, Feb. 15
FREDERICKSBURG – Motorists should anticipate overnight travel delays and lane closures next week on Interstate 95 southbound in the Fredericksburg area with bridge deck repairs scheduled for the bridge over Route 17 near Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth) in Stafford County.
Next week, crews will continue their work to the bridge deck by replacing temporary asphalt patches with concrete to provide a smoother travel surface and reduce the risk of potholes. The repairs will require a double lane closure.
Lanes on southbound I-95 will be closed on the following schedule, weather permitting:
Monday, Feb. 13 ˗˗ Wednesday, Feb. 15
I-95 Southbound at mile marker 135, near Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth)
- Single lane closure at 9 p.m.
- Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
- All lanes re-open to traffic by 6 a.m.
Overhead message boards on I-95 southbound will warn travelers to stay alert to the work zone ahead and possible delays.
Motorists may consider using Route 1 as an alternate route.
