BE ALERT FOR TEMPORARY TRAFFIC PATTERN ON ROUTE 17 SOUTHBOUND IN ESSEX COUNTY
Crews are carrying out emergency road repair overnight on Rt. 17 southbound; Southbound traffic has been detoured to northbound lanes

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 17 southbound traffic in Essex County is being diverted to travel in the northbound lanes of Route 17 between Route 714 (Oneal Road) and Route 724 (St. Mathews Church Road) due to an emergency road repair.

Motorists should be alert for this temporary traffic pattern, and follow traffic control at the scene.

Flooding earlier this week has damaged the pavement on Route 17 southbound. Crews are scheduled to repair the damaged area overnight.
