EXPECT OVERNIGHT DELAYS ON THE DOWNING BRIDGE THIS WEEK
Route 360 will be reduced to a single lane with alternating one-way traffic overnight starting Wednesday, June 27 through early Saturday, June 30
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Drivers in Tappahannock should anticipate overnight delays this week with a work zone on the Downing Bridge.
The overnight work zones are scheduled to minimize driver delays on the bridge over the Rappahannock River between Essex and Richmond counties.
Weather permitting, drivers can expect Route 360 to be reduced to a single lane with alternating one-way traffic the following nights:
Wednesday, June 27 – Friday, June 29
8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
One-way, alternating traffic on the bridge will be controlled by automated flagging stations.
Message boards are posted at both bridge approaches to notify drivers about the upcoming work zones and potential for delays.
Motorists can find real-time information on lane closures, work zones, traffic and other incidents on 511Virginia.
