MERRY POINT, SUNNYBANK FERRY SERVICE SUSPENDED IN NORTHERN NECK
Ferry service is suspended until further notice due to elevated water levels from weekend rain, and to secure the vessels ahead of Hurricane Florence
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Two Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) ferries have been taken out of service in the Northern Neck area until further notice due to elevated water levels from weekend rain, and to secure the vessels ahead of Hurricane Florence.
The Merry Point Ferry is located on Route 604 in Lancaster County and crosses the western end of the Corrotoman River.
The Sunnybank Ferry crosses the Little Wicomico River on Route 644 in Northumberland County.

VDOT’s 14-county Fredericksburg District includes the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford in the Fredericksburg area; Northumberland, Richmond, Lancaster and Westmoreland counties in the Northern Neck; Essex, Gloucester, King & Queen, King William, Mathews and Middlesex counties in the Middle Peninsula.
