NEW SPEED LIMIT ON ROUTE 3 IN RICHMOND COUNTY
Motorists should be aware that the speed limit is being raised from 55 mph to 60 mph between Route 614 (Folly Neck Road) and Route 632 (Islington Road)

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – New speed limit signs will be posted on Friday, Nov. 16, on a section of Route 3 in Richmond County.

The speed limit is being raised from 55 mph to 60 mph over a 4.6-mile section of Route 3 between Route 614 (Folly Neck Road) and Route 632 (Islington Road).

New speed limit signs are scheduled to be installed tomorrow, weather permitting.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) conducted a study of this segment of Route 3 following legislation passed by the Virginia General Assembly in 2018. Following VDOT’s review, this section of Route 3 was recommended to be increased to 60 mph.
