NEW WEIGHT LIMIT ON ROUTE 652 (COOL WATER DRIVE) IN CAROLINE COUNTY
Weight limit is being reduced to 4 tons for all vehicles on bridge over Polecat Creek

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The posted weight limit for vehicle traffic on the Route 652 (Cool Water Drive) bridge over Polecat Creek in Caroline County is being reduced to 4 tons.

The bridge is currently posted with a 10-ton weight limit. The weight limit is being reduced to 4 tons following a recent bridge inspection.

Approximately 460 vehicles a day cross the bridge, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) traffic count.

State of Good Repair program funds are scheduled to pay for a bridge replacement. The project schedule is still under development.

The bridge over Polecat Creek was built in 1974. It is 32 feet long and 20 feet wide.
