PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE WORK ON NORRIS BRIDGE MAY CAUSE BRIEF DELAYS ON NORRIS BRIDGE ON MONDAY, APRIL 9
Crews will be working from the bridge deck on the Middlesex County side of the bridge
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Beginning at around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 9, motorists can expect brief delays on the Middlesex County side of the Robert O. Norris Bridge while Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews perform minor preventative maintenance on a girder span of the bridge.
Route 3 will be reduced to a single travel lane in the work zone. One-way, alternating traffic will be controlled by automated flagging stations.
Work is expected to be complete by 10 a.m.
The Norris Bridge is located on Route 3 over the Rappahannock River between Lancaster and Middlesex counties.
VDOT’s 14-county Fredericksburg District includes the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford in the Fredericksburg area; Northumberland, Richmond, Lancaster and Westmoreland counties in the Northern Neck; Essex, Gloucester, King & Queen, King William, Mathews and Middlesex counties in the Middle Peninsula.
