ROUTE 621 (MT. HOLLY ROAD) IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY CLOSED FOR EMERGENCY REPAIR
Detour signs posted while road is repaired and new drainage pipes are installed
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 621 (Mt. Holly Road) in Westmoreland County will remain closed to traffic this week at Davis Creek after heavy rain washed out a section of road over two drainage pipes.
Barricades are posted on Mt. Holly Road on both sides of Davis Creek. Motorists should follow the recommended posted detour route from Route 621 to Route 712 and Route 741, which reconnects with Route 621.
Plans for an emergency repair are underway. Crews will install two 42-inch replacement drainage pipes, and will repair the road surface over the pipes.
An average of 1,600 vehicles travel Mt. Holly Road daily, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation traffic count.
