ROUTE 695 (MOUNT ZION ROAD) IN MIDDLESEX COUNTY CLOSED FOR EMERGENCY REPAIR
Detour signs have been posted to guide motorists while road is repaired
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 695 (Mount Zion Road) in Middlesex County is closed to through traffic for approximately three weeks after heavy rain washed out a section of the road shoulder and a travel lane.
Motorists should follow the recommended posted detour route on Route 17 and Route 602 (Old Virginia Street). Residents will have access to driveways from either end of the road closure.
Plans for an emergency repair to the road shoulder and travel lane are underway.
An average of 80 vehicles travel Mount Zion Road daily, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation traffic count.
