UPDATE: COURTHOUSE ROAD AT I-95 INTERCHANGE AND I-95 RAMPS AT EXIT 140 IN STAFFORD EXPECTED TO REMAIN CLOSED MOST OF THE DAY
Crews are repairing damage caused by an earlier crash. Use Route 1 to access I-95. Use Exit 136/Centreport Parkway or Exit 143/Garrisonville Road to exit 1-95

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – (11:30 a.m.) Route 630 (Courthouse Road) is expected to remain closed in both directions at the I-95 interchange and the ramps to enter and exit I-95 northbound and southbound at Exit 140/Courthouse Road will remain closed most of the day as the result of damage caused by an earlier crash.

Crews from VDOT and Dominion Energy are on scene replacing the damaged signal structures and repairing downed power lines at the interchange.

Earlier today, VDOT structure and bridge inspectors conducted an inspection of the I-95 bridge over Courthouse Road and found no structural damage to the bridge.

The damage was caused by an earlier truck crash on Route 630 that struck the overhead power lines, signal structure and the I-95 bridge over Courthouse Road.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area and use the most convenient alternate route.

The recommended detour:

Courthouse Road (west of I-95) use Ramoth Church Road to Route 1

  • Courthouse Road (east of I-95) use Courthouse Road to Route 1
  • I-95 northbound use Exit 136/Centreport Parkway to Route 1
  • I-95 southbound use Exit 143/Garrisonville Road) to Route 1
