UPDATE: EMERGENCY REPAIR UNDERWAY ON ROUTE 608 (BROOKE ROAD) IN STAFFORD COUNTY
Pipe failure following intense rain Sunday evening has closed road near John Roberts Lane; Road will remain closed through Friday, Aug. 17
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews have started an emergency repair project on Route 608 (Brooke Road) in Stafford County to replace a damaged drainage pipe and restore the road’s travel surface.
Brooke Road closed to traffic near the intersection with John Roberts Lane on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 12 after a drainage pipe was damaged by heavy rain.
VDOT crews have started to excavate the affected area. Weather permitting, Brooke Road is anticipated to re-open to through traffic by the evening of Friday, Aug. 17.
Motorists should use the most convenient alternate route. Road closed signs have been posted on both approaches to the work zone.
