The Ferry Pocahontas returns to service this week
Returning from an overhaul and preparing for inspection
SURRY— The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will put the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry Pocahontas back into service on Wednesday, April 4. The boat is returning to the wharf today and is expected to be in service for the afternoon rush hours on Wednesday.
Due to a required semi-annual Coast Guard inspection, Pocahontas will not be in service during the afternoon of April 11 and the morning of April 12. A third boat will operate during the rush hours on these days to compensate for her absence.
