CHESAPEAKE - The Virginia Department of Transportation has opened Interstate 64 West at the Battlefield Boulevard overpass in addition to the two right lanes of Battlefield Boulevard South that carry motorists over the Battlefield Boulevard bridge.

The lanes and I-64 west were closed last night so contractors could fix a portion of the bridge that was damaged yesterday.

Workers removed two concrete girders and adjusted the lanes on Battlefield Boulevard South to accommodate two lanes of traffic.
