CARRSVILLE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT READY TO BEGIN
Construction scheduled to start March 10, 2016

ISLE OF WIGHT – A project to demolish, remove and replace the existing bridge over the CSX Railroad on Route 58 is scheduled to begin construction on Thursday, March 10. Contract crews for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will replace the bridge, to include realignment of the south bridge and installation of storm water facilities.

Bryant Contracting Inc. was awarded the $6.7 million contract in January 2016 for the new bridge. The project will continue over the next 20 months, with completion scheduled for November 2017.

During the project’s entirety, the road will close and a signed detour will be in place. To learn more, please visit http://www.virginiadot.org/projects/hamptonroads/carrsville_highway.asp.
