JAMESTOWN-SCOTLAND FERRY UPDATES SUMMER SCHEDULE TO MEET TRAFFIC DEMAND
Summer schedule begins Friday, May 25
SURRY COUNTY – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has updated the summer schedule at the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry to accommodate seasonal traffic. The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry will run an extra boat Fridays through Sundays starting on Friday, May 25.
The extra boat will begin running at 12:40 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays – an hour earlier than previous summers – and at 11:40 a.m. on Sundays – two hours earlier than in years past. The extra boat will stop running at 10:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
The updated summer schedule is now available at www.JSFerry.org. Motorists are encouraged to report backups and incidents at the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry through the Waze app. Real-time traffic updates are also available at 511 Virginia. Follow us on Twitter @VaDOTHR.
