FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR PORTION OF AREA
Amherst County included in alert

LYNCHBURG – Motorists should use caution when traveling during the overnight and early morning hours as rain/freezing rain and sleet are possible across portions of south-central Virginia.

Amherst County has been included in a Freezing Rain Advisory issued by the National Weather Service. This advisory is in effect through Tuesday afternoon.

Motorists throughout the area should be alert to the possibility of ice accumulation on some surfaces, especially bridges and overpasses, during a primarily rain event in the region.
