CONCRETE WORK TO TAKE PLACE ON APPOMATTOX BYPASS
Motorists should be alert to lane closures and possible delays
LYNCHBURG—Motorists may face some minor delays on the eastbound lanes of US 460 Bypass at Appomattox beginning Monday, November 29, weather permitting.
Crews under contract to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin saw cutting sections of the roadway in preparation for removal and replacement of concrete slabs. The work in the eastbound lanes is expected to be complete by December 25. Work in the westbound lanes is slated to begin on December 20 and be completed by January 15, 2011.
Wide loads will be directed to use US 460 Business during this work.
Signs, message boards and other traffic control devices will be used to alert motorists to the operations and changes in traffic pattern.
