SECTION OF ROUTE 642 BUCKINGHAM COUNTY TO BE CLOSED FOR BRIDGE REPAIRS
LYNCHBURG—Motorists who use Route 642 (Perkins Mill Road) in Buckingham County can expect a change of travel plans in the coming weeks. A section of the roadway will be closed for bridge repairs.
Beginning Tuesday, September 7, Route 642 will be closed from the intersection with Route 24 to the intersection with Route 641 for repairs to the structure over Slate River. Motorists will use Route 640 (Andersonville Road) and Route 24 (Mt. Rush Highway) to access locations on either side of this work.
It is estimated that repairs will be completed by Friday, September 17.
Signs and other traffic control devices will be used to alert motorists to this closure.
