CLEAN UP CONTINUES, MOTORISTS URGED TO USE CAUTION
Portions of approximately 50 roads in the Lynchburg District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) remain closed as a result of storms that began rolling into the area on Friday night. Most of those closures are due to downed power lines.
In addition to the closed roads, motorists must negotiate a number of traffic signals that are not working as a result of power outages. VDOT has erected STOP signs at numerous locations and driver attention is urged.
Additional storms are possible over the next few days. Clean up will continue; however, motorists are urged to be patient, plan ahead and allow extra time for travel
