VDOT CREWS CLEARING ROADS
Motorists urged to use caution

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews have been working since last night clearing downed trees and debris from roads impacted by last night’s storm. A number of roads remain closed throughout the ten-county Lynchburg District, including the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Campbell, Charlotte, Cumberland, Halifax, Nelson, Pittsylvania and Prince Edward.

VDOT crews are continuing to work with utility workers to remove downed trees from roads. However, due to widespread power outages, many traffic signals are out and motorists must remain vigilant should driving become necessary.

Another round of storms is possible this evening and citizens should be alert to conditions before venturing out.

For the latest real-time traffic information and information about road closures, call 511 or visit www.511Virginia.org.
