VDOT HOLDS PUBLIC HEARING ON ROUTE 643 HIGHWAY PROJECT IN PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing on a proposed project to reconstruct the section of Route 643 (Back Hampden-Sydney Road) in Prince Edward County that begins 0.35 miles east of Route 644 (Buffalo Height Road ) to 0.91 miles east of Route 644.
The hearing will be held on Tuesday, September 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the VDOT Farmville Shop located at 1202 Andrews Drive in Farmville.
This hearing is being held to provide an opportunity for citizens or organizations to give VDOT input on the proposed project. The hearing will be held in an open-house format with no formal presentation given. VDOT representatives will be present to discuss the proposed project and to answer questions.
The proposed project will result in spot improvements at two locations with deficient horizontal cures and vertical curves with drainage features. Once completed, the project will provide citizens with an improved section for vehicles and pedestrians and will allow opportunities for additional improvements as funding becomes available.
Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the hearing or until October 5, 2012 by mailing them to Laura Walton, Project Manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 4219 Campbell Avenue, Lynchburg, Va., 24501. Comments also can be emailed to email@example.com. Please reference “Route 643 Back Hampden-Sydney Road Public Hearing Comment” in the subject heading.
