WIDTH OF TAYLORS MILL ROAD BRIDGE REDUCED
Inspection discovers deterioration

Motorists who use Route 676 (Taylors Mill Road) over Whitethorn Creek in Pittsylvania County will notice a change in the width of the travel lane this week.

As a result of a recent inspection that discovered increased deterioration of the structure, the width of the lane will be reduced from 15’ 2” to 10’ 8” and moved away from the outer edges of the bridge.    The structure is currently posted at 10 tons and will remain so for the time being.

The bridge is the subject of a public hearing scheduled from 4-6 pm on June 26 at the Gretna High School Gymnasium, 100 Gretna Hawk Circle, Gretna.
