Route 623 bridge repairs to take place

LYNCHBURG – Repairs to a bridge on Route 623 (Town Fork Road) over Buffalo Creek, south of US 460 will require a temporary road closure in the New London area of Campbell County next week.

A recent inspection of the bridge indicated that there is deterioration of the timber deck.  Work to repair the deck, scheduled to begin on Monday, June 3 and to be complete, weather permitting, by Monday, June 10, will take place between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. each weekday.

This section of Route 623 carries approximately 512 vehicles per day.  Message boards and other traffic control devices will be in place to alert motorists to this work.
