DELAYS POSSIBLE ON ROUTE 307 DURING ROADSIDE OPERATIONS

LYNCHBURG – Motorists should expect possible delays on Route 307 in Prince Edward County on Tuesday, April 9 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

NaturChem, under contract to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), will be spraying along the roadsides in an effort to retard the growth of turf and reduce maintenance costs under guidelines determined by VDOT’s Roadside Vegetation Management Program.

Spraying operations are done annually along many major roadways throughout the state to reduce mowing costs, maintain site distance, prevent encroachment of weeds and possible damage to vehicles and limit roadside clutter.

Message boards and other traffic control devices will be in place during these operations and motorists are encouraged to be alert, slow down and watch for slow moving vehicles.

For additional information, please contact VDOT’s Customer Service Center at 800-367-7623 (800-FOR-ROAD).
