FLOODING REPORTED IN VDOT'S LYNCHBURG DISTRICT
Over 20 secondary roads are reported as closed due to flooding or downed trees in the Lynchburg District of the Virginia Department of Transportation this morning. Most of the closures are in Amherst, Nelson and Pittsylvania counties.
VDOT crews have worked throughout the night in many areas to deal with road closures and openings, incidents and debris.
Motorists are urged to use caution due rapidly changing conditions and to avoid driving into any standing water. In addition, if driving is necessary, motorists should decrease speeds to avoid hydroplaning.
Visit 511 Virginia for the most recent closure information.
