PAVEMENT WORK TO TAKE PLACE ON ROUTE 460 IN LYNCHBURG
Work will take place during evening and early morning hours
LYNCHBURG- The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announces that milling and paving will be done on Route 460 East in the City of Lynchburg soon.
The work will begin, weather permitting, on Sunday, July 28 at 6:00 p.m. and end on Monday morning by 6:00 a.m. On weekdays the work will begin at 8:00 p.m. and end by 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
Milling is the first step to repaving a road and is simply the removal of the top layer of old asphalt. The milling machine chews up the old road material and prepares the roadway for a new treatment.
Work will take place in the eastbound lanes of US 460 from approximately the Martin Street Bridge to just west of the airport interchange.
