US 460 TREE TRIMMING OPERATIONS WILL RESULT IN LANE CLOSURES AND DELAYS
LYNCHBURG – Motorists on US 460 East and West need to be aware of tree trimming operations in the busy corridor between the Campbell Avenue intersection and the Wards Road/Route 29 overpass over the next two Saturdays.
Crews under contract to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will remove small trees and prune large vegetation along the roadside to enhance sight distance and improve safety by limiting the possibility of limbs falling into the roadways due to storms or damage and ensure signage can be seen along the roadsides and overhead.
On Saturday, April 27, crews will be trimming in the US 460 westbound median from Route 501/Campbell Avenue to Route 29/Wards Road. On Saturday, May 4, these operations will take place in the median of US 460 East between Route 29/Wards Road and Route 501/Campbell Avenue. The operations will require the closure of the outside lane (left lane).
Tree trimming operations will continue along US 460 westward to the Bedford County line and east to the Appomattox County line over the next several weeks. Once US 460 in Campbell County is complete, crews will move to US 29 in Amherst and Nelson Counties
