VDOT HOLDS PUBLIC HEARING ON U.S. ROUTE 29 SOUTH BRIDGE PROJECT IN PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY
LYNCHBURG —The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing on a proposed project on U.S. Route 29 South over Norfolk Southern Railroad in Pittsylvania County
The hearing will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Virginia Department of Transportation Chatham Office, 19281 U.S. Highway 29, Chatham, VA 24531.
This hearing is being held to provide an opportunity for citizens or organizations to give VDOT input on the proposed project. The hearing will be held in an open-house format with no formal presentation given. VDOT representatives will be present to discuss the proposed project and to answer questions.
The proposed project would replace the existing bridge with a new structure that meets current geometric standards. During construction, the existing bridge would be closed and an on-site detour route would be in place.
Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the hearing or until April 26, 2013 by mailing them to Raina Rosado, P.E., Project Manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 4219 Campbell Avenue, Lynchburg, Va., 24501.
