Route 611 and 627 will be closed temporarily for bridge work

LYNCHBURG- Motorists should expect delays on two Appomattox County roads in the coming weeks.  Portions of Routes 611 and 627 will be closed temporarily and detours will be in place due to bridge deck replacement.

The bridge over Rough Creek on Route 627 (Poorhouse Creek Road) will be closed beginning Monday, November 3 and through the day on Friday, November 7, weather permitting. A 10-mile detour will be in place. The detour will direct traffic via Route 627 (River Ridge Road) to Route 632 (Morning Star Road) to Route 633 (Hixburg Road) and back to Route 627.

Route 611 (Colemans Mill Road) over Mill Run will be closed beginning Monday, November 10. A 3-mile detour will be in place using Routes 26 (Oakville Road) and 633 (Oak Ridge Road)   before returning to Route 611. The closure is expected to be complete by the end of the day on Friday, November 14, weather permitting.
