UPDATE: PUBLIC HEARING ON ROUTE 716 BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT WILL NOT BE HELD TONIGHT

LYNCHBURG—Public schools are closed in Halifax County today (Tuesday, March 18, 2014) and, as a result the design public hearing on plans to replace the Route 716 (Wolf Trap Road) bridge over the Banister River in Halifax County will be postponed until the previously announced inclement weather date of Tuesday, March 25. 

Citizens may stop by to review and discuss plans between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Sydnor Jennings Elementary School, 1011 Sydnor Jennings Road, Nathalie, VA 24577.

The meeting will be an open-house format with VDOT staff on hand to discuss project information and answer questions.

Citizens may provide and written comments at the hearing or submit them by April 4 , 2014 to Mr. Aaron Collins, Virginia Department of Transportation, 4219 Campbell Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24501. Comments may also be emailed to lynchburginfo@vdot.virginia.gov . Please reference “Route 716 over Banister River” in the subject line.
