CANDLERS MOUNTAIN ROAD BRIDGE REPAIRS WILL RESULT IN ROAD CLOSURE
LYNCHBURG – Motorists who use the Candlers Mountain Road bridge over US 460 in Lynchburg to access area shopping and university facilities will use other routes for three to five weeks beginning as early as next week.
The bridge will be closed while joint seals in the structure are repaired and/or replaced by Burleigh Construction, Inc. under the Districtwide Bridge Maintenance Contract.
A signed detour will be in place directing motorists to use Liberty Mountain Drive and University Boulevard.
Signs and other traffic control devices will be used to alert motorists to these operations and to the change in traffic pattern.
