CROSSING WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY CLOSURE ON UNION HILL ROAD (ROUTE 659) & TOYTOWN ROAD (ROUTE 608), AMHERST COUNTY
LYNCHBURG – Motorists on Union Hill Road (Route 659) and Toytown Road (Route 608) near the Town of Amherst area of Amherst County should expect a temporary road closure while Norfolk Southern Rail works on its rail crossing.
Union Hill Road will be closed to through traffic, weather permitting from 9 am to 3 pm on Monday, May 22 in the vicinity of the railroad grade crossing located 0.24 miles east of Washington Street (Route 1102) in the Town of Amherst.
Toytown Road will be closed to through traffic, weather permitting from 9 am to 3 pm on Tuesday, May 23 in the vicinity of the railroad grade crossing 1.84 miles east of North Amherst Highway (Route 29).
Signs and other traffic control devices will be in use to alert motorists to this change in traffic pattern.
